When Pam Kyles retired from owning and running the local laundrette little did she know that retirement wasn’t all it was cracked up to be!
Within 18 months she was itching to find something positive to do, hopefully in the local community and ideally helping others. Pam already had many years’ experience caring for her daughter, Sarah, and when her long time friends John and Jenny Winfieldale opened a business in Burton providing at-home care for older people she jumped at the opportunity of becoming Home Instead’s very first Caregiver.
Twelve months on and Pam is finding the job of helping and looking after elderly people in the Burton area very rewarding and gratifying.
Commenting on the Home Instead service, Pam said: “The way in which Home Instead operates is unique and this allows us to offer an exceptional service to our clients. For example the company matches clients and care givers – they look for areas of common interest or life experience so that there is an immediate connection.”
John Winfieldale commented: “Pam has been instrumental in helping us grow the business; she knows so many people in the area and is a very caring and empathetic person. The clients love her!”
Home Instead is rapidly building a reputation as one of the UK’s leading at-home care companies. Their services are tailored to the needs of individual clients and range from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands.
