Our Care Professionals support clients in continuing favourite activities, like gentle walks through Heartwood Forest or a cup of tea at a familiar local café, offering both companionship and encouragement. We also accompany clients to local events and dementia-friendly groups, helping them stay socially connected and active. Whether it’s attending a church coffee morning or visiting the Sandridge village green, we tailor outings to suit individual comfort levels while nurturing a sense of belonging.
We are led by Nick and Fiona Harrall, a husband-and-wife team with deep ties to the local community. Fiona serves as our ‘Nominated Individual’ with the CQC and brings extensive knowledge of dementia care to her role, while Nick manages day-to-day operations from our nearby St Albans office. Our team of fully employed Care Professionals receives thorough dementia training in our dedicated training suite, learning practical techniques for communication, behaviour support, and building trust. We take great care in matching each client with a Care Professional who shares similar interests and values, creating warm, natural connections.
Our commitment to dementia care in Sandridge goes beyond the home. We run two welcoming Memory Cafés in local towns: one in St Albans every Wednesday at St Mary’s Church, and another in Radlett on alternate Tuesdays. These cafés offer a safe, social space for those living with dementia and their carers, with friendly volunteers, games, and plenty of tea and cake. We also work closely with EMDASS, Carers in Herts, Admiral Nurses, and the Alzheimer’s Society to provide access to expert advice and additional support. We’re passionate about creating a more dementia-friendly community through awareness sessions and local partnerships.
