Boosting employment in Wigan
Whilst many local businesses are being impacted by the pandemic, causing a rise in unemployment, we hope to improve the local employment rate, with 50 jobs on offer for people with or without sector experience.
Our CAREGivers come from a range of sectors, but they all have a warm heart and desire to make a difference, which is prized over previous experience. We provide services from companionship through to personal care and specialised dementia care.
One of our CAREGivers, Julie joined the team in June 2019. She said: “I previously worked as a teaching assistant, and at the time I was looking for care for my parents. This is when I came across Home Instead, which opened my eyes to the possibility of working in the care sector.
“I now work for Home Instead alongside working part-time in a car garage within the customer service department. I was hesitant about becoming a caregiver, but I am so glad I did it, as I absolutely love it!”
In a recent independent survey run by WorkBuzz, 100% of our CAREGivers said they have access to all the training they need to fulfil their job role, with 96% of CAREGivers being proud of their job. These outstanding results make us a Five Star Employer, a year into one of the toughest crises the social care sector has ever seen.
Danielle Roberts, Head of Operations, says: “Every year we commission an independent survey to find out the views of our clients and caregivers. The results show how our award-winning training program equips our caregivers with everything they need to correctly and happily perform their job, even if they have never worked in the care sector before.
“Whether you have faced redundancy, want to try something new, or already performing a caring role, we’d love you to consider working for Home Instead. We will offer you the training you need and immerse you in the company’s values that ensure that the care we deliver is outstanding.”
