Biker Stephen is celebrated for years of caring

CAREGiver and keen motorcyclist, Stephen Carey, is being celebrated for his many dedicated years of providing care and companionship to elderly individuals throughout the local community.

Stephen joined our team in 2015, after sadly being made redundant from his 30-year-long career with Volvo. He was then searching for a new, rewarding role when he saw how happy his daughter was working in care.

Taking a leap of faith and following her lead, Stephen ventured into a new career in the care sector- a decision which is has not looked back on.

Stephen said: “Hearing and seeing how much my daughter was enjoying her role as a carer got me thinking that I should give it a go, and I am so glad I did. I love meeting new clients, hearing the interesting stories they tell and their nostalgic tales from the past. I have been a keen biker since 1973, so I also love sharing my biking stories and adventures with them.”

Stephen continued: “I have found working as a CAREGiver for the last five and a half years more enjoyable than I did being a mechanic! If anything, I wish I had taken the leap sooner! The office team are always there for support and the training is superb, meaning you can join with little experience but still provide quality care.”

Danielle Roberts, our Head of Operations, said: “We launched in October 2014 and Stephen started working for us in September 2015, making him our longest standing caregiver- we’re proud to have him on our team.

“Stephen is a brilliant CAREGiver who goes above and beyond for his clients. We love hearing about his biking stories; not forgetting his beloved Harley Davidson, which is a great talking point with clients, their families and neighbours!”

We have a number of vacancies for CAREGivers. You don’t need experience in care to join, and if you are an empathetic and caring person, it could be the perfect role for you. Our expert training will enable you to provide quality care and companionship to elderly people across the local area.
