Small Act of Kindness in a bag!

We are delighted to be supporting  the wonderful charity Small Acts of Kindness which sources and distributes practical gifts to older people in Hertfordshire and as part of Random Acts of Kindness Week we’re distributing some of the bags to our clients in the hope of keeping them warm, to help combat loneliness and to bring a smile to their face!

Small Acts of Kindness delivers Warm in Winter gift bags to elderly, socially isolated and lonely people. The bags contain a large fleece blanket, thermal hat, gloves, socks. A mug with coffee, tea bags, drinking chocolate and cup-a-soups.

At Christmas they deliver Celebrate Christmas gift bags containing an advent calendar and a selection of gift wrapped gifts for those who no longer look forward to celebrating Christmas.

Also distributed with each bag is the Purple Pages Information Pack which contain a wealth of carefully sourced literature about services and activities for older people, very often things that recipients hadn’t even previously known or thought about.

It is thought that 1 in 5 older people spend their waking day alone. Many also struggle to keep warm at home but Small Acts of Kindness have made sure that 24,000 older people in Hertfordshire are now warmer in their homes, happier and better connected to their communities

We absolutely love this initiative and are very pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile charity. In their words they are ‘Connecting communities with kindness one small act of kindness at a time’

If you know someone living in Hertfordshire who you think would benefit from one of these bags, please get in contact with us or with Small Acts of Kindness and we’ll be delighted to arrange for one to be delivered.
