The Home Instead team at South Lakes are proud to provide expert home care across the area.
Care isn't always an easy topic. We will help you make an informed, compassionate choice for your loved one.
We moved to the Lake District from Hampshire in 2017 and launched Home Instead South Lakes in January 2018.
Will and Judy Clay
I oversee the whole operation of running Home Instead South Lakes, including the Care Professionals, Office Support Team, the Senior Leadership Team and a network of external contacts who help support our business and clients.
General and Registered Manager
I ensure that our Care Professionals and clients are at the centre of everything we do and are supported and feel valued to enable us to provide the very best OUTSTANDING care for our clients in our community.
I work closely in the Senior Leadership team with Louise and Rachel Boulton, ensuring our mission statement and our clients and Care Professionals are always at the centre of everything we do.
I am passionate about delivering the very best OUTSTANDING care in our community: the kind of care you would want for your own family member or loved one and nothing less.
My role is to oversee the onboarding of our new clients, I liaise with lots of external agencies regarding our clients and their families. I am also responsible for ensuring our clients are invoiced correctly and that Care professionals are paid correctly.
Business Finance Coordinator
I joined Home Instead South Lakes in 2020 as a Care Professional and I’m now the Engagement Coordinator in addition to my role as a Care Professional. I love being able to do both roles and that Home Instead have enabled me to do this through their fantastic Career Pathway!
I am a Care Professional for our ‘overnight care team’ and I also provide administrative support in the office to our recruiting and audit team.
I work with the Support Team to ensure that we are complying with franchise standards, brand guidelines, regulations, and legislation.
Business Standards Coordinator
My role is to oversee the scheduling of clients’ visits. Together with the rest of the office support team I ensure our Care Professionals and clients always have an outstanding experience of Home Instead.
We spend some of our days in the office where we love to meet all the wonderful Care Professionals who work here.

“Home Instead has changed my life. It has given me back a purpose. My clients and their families become like my family. I’ve made some of the best friends and with all the fantastic training I’ve received my skills, knowledge and confidence delivering care for my clients has increased massively! I receive the best support I’ve ever had from the office team, and I have been given amazing opportunities to progress. It’s honestly been the most wonderful experience that I hope will continue for a long time to come”
Rachel D (Care Professional)
Here at Morrisons, our community means so much to us. We love working alongside Home Instead to really help make a difference.
Together we have distributed thousands of Christmas gifts and Easter treats to vulnerable or isolated people. We hosted ‘Companionship cafe’s’ allowing people to come together for some company and worked together on other projects like our ‘Big garden rescue’ at Heron Hill school. Rachel is so passionate about Home Instead being an integrated part of the community and approaches all events with such positivity. It’s always a joy to work together.

“I cannot thank the whole team of Care Professionals enough! To say they all went above and beyond in their care for our family is an understatement and we are indebted to them for the way in which they made a very difficult time much more bearable. It felt as if each member of the team became not just someone who provided a service (which they did and very professionally), but a friend and I’ve missed seeing them since Dad’s passing. Each one is an absolute credit to Home Instead!”

What a privilege it has been to work with Rachel and the team at Home Instead Kendal! We first met when we won the opportunity to have a ‘mini garden makeover’ in February 2022. From that moment on I have been most impressed with the determination and drive of Rachel and her team to get things done.
We continued our partnership when we invited Home Instead clients and their carers to come and work alongside Bee Team members to plant trees for the Queen’s Jubilee. What a beautiful and memorable afternoon that was with young and old working together across the generations, in the glorious sunshine, enjoying both gardening and companionship. A simple act but very special indeed!

“Home Instead have been visiting my Mum for about 6 months. This is the first time she has needed some extra support in her home and was anxious about it. The whole team are very professional and make my Mum feel special.
I know my Mum looks forward to their visits and is always happy to tell me about her time with the carers. Mum has Alzheimer’s and can become anxious. The care visits give her a plan for her week and something to look forward to. I know she is happy and safe when I can’t be there.”
Gillian W (Daughter of Client)
“It’s a lovely feeling when you help someone, very rewarding and everyone has been very supportive and helpful. With everyone behind you and good training, you know you can do it!”
