Mrs Britton from St Albans has been affected by Alzheimer’s for some time and has not been in the best of health recently, however, with the help of her Home Instead Caregiver Althea Burrowes, she was delighted to complete her jigsaw which they have been working on together for some time.
Alzheimer’s disease affects around 750,000 people in the UK and, as the disease progresses, people with Alzheimer's need more support from those who care for them.
Home Instead St Alban’s Care Manager Cathy Dyer comments: “There is so much we can do on a practical level to help people like Mrs Britton, with Alzeimers, to continue living independently in their own homes. Our staff are trained to understand the symptoms and know how best to deal with them. Most importantly we allow them the time to provide a high quality service tailored to their individual needs.”
