Clients on the BBC

We were delighted to see clients from our York and Wetherby offices appearing on BBC Look North.

The BBC were reporting on our new partnership with the University of York which will see the university undertaking a three-year study into home care. The project will measure the impact of care on quality of life and health. The findings will help to shape the future of home care and also influence government social care policy.

To bring the story to life, the BBC asked if they could film with some of our clients and CAREGivers. 86-year-old Joan from Wetherby and her CAREGiver Emma and 97-year-old RAF veteran Douglas from York and CAREGiver, Mel, were happy to oblige. The filming took place in COVID safe conditions.

In the interview we see Emma playing a piece on the piano and hear Joan talking about how happy she is in the comfort of her own home. Douglas talks of how brilliant his CAREGiver Mel is but doesn’t like to tell her too often!

Both Joan and Douglas loved taking part in the filming and having a chat with the film crew and reporter. Douglas even made them promise to return once restrictions were lifted to make them a cuppa!

Well done to everyone who took part and to the BBC’s team.

We are always proud to showcase local success and how we help clients live a full life.
