At the CAREGiver meeting, one of our long standing CAREGivers, Barbara Newton, talked about the work she does with the Wirral Food Bank. More and more people are relying on help to feed themselves and their families. Barbara has done a sterling job with the Food Bank and she really helped raise our awareness of the need for help.

The message we did get at the CAREGivers meeting, was that many people would like to lose weight but really don’t want to go to a slimming club. We are very happy to have a set of scales in the office which you can use to get weighed with a ‘weigh in buddy’.  If the project is a success we will have weight loss cards made. There will be no payment necessary but we would ask that you bring a non perishable food item with more than 3 months on its sell by date.  The food will be donated to the Wirral Food Bank. We are sure this project will be a great success and you will also have the opportunity to stop for a while, have a cup of coffee but definitely not eat cake!

The scales will be available from Monday 15th May in the office, come on down, get weighed and don’t forget your Food Bank Donation.
