Job Description

Have you ever helped at your local church or community centre? How about helping someone with shopping or simply being a friendly face to talk to? Or have you cared for your mum or dad or grandparents? These are some of the activities some of our CAREGivers do on a day to day basis.

Due to the increase in demand from new and existing Clients we are looking for paid volunteers to help with companionship, home help and more. Even if it is only 10 hours a week, it all helps.

We have part-time jobs available throughout Southampton and surrounding areas such as Locks Heath and Warsash. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle as some of our clients like us to take them out shopping and to appointments.

Home Instead is an award-winning national brand and we focus on building relationships, always the best way. As a companion you will see the same clients every week so companionship is at the heart of what we do, whatever the task involved. This is why we only do a minimum of one hour calls, it enables you to spend quality time with your Client.

Some lovely comments from our Senior CAREGivers:

"I think I will be doing this until I need a carer myself. My life has become better since becoming a CAREGiver and I am proud to be part of the Home Instead family. I think people might be surprised about how rewarding being a CAREGiver is.”

"I love my job. I love the warm feeling I get inside when my client smiles and says "thank you". I love sharing memories with my clients and listening to their stories. I love having time to do my work properly and not feel rushed. I love being part of a team that makes a difference. In fact, my job doesn't often feel like 'work' really. That's why I love my job"
