Tim PEAQ Week!
We do the PEAQ survey because it gives our CAREGivers the chance to provide confidential, open, and honest feedback on their experience as a CAREGiver. Which in turn, enables us to respond to any constructive feedback to ensure we are constantly improving and meeting CAREGiver needs.
Technology is never easy and so we run a PEAQ week to give the CAREGivers opportunity to be supported in their completing of the feedback survey. It is also an opportunity for us to interact with our CAREGivers and provide them with opportunities to meet and interact with each other. It’s a bit of fun whilst also serving a purpose of ensuring our CAREGivers are happy in their role.
Our Home Instead Southampton Office celebrated PEAQ Week by making it into Tim Peake Week! We chose Tim Peake because he was the first British ESA Astronaut and the second astronaut to bear a flag of the United Kingdom patch. He launched on a Soyuz rocket on 15th December 2015 and landed back on Earth 18th June 2016 after 186 days in space. We were very moved by Tim’s story at the Home Instead Annual Conference in March 2021 where he spoke about his journey to making history through being committed, hardworking and believing in oneself.
To encourage our CAREGivers to come in and complete the survey, we had an assortment of space themed competitions with a grand prize of Astronaut Experience for Two at Space Store where the winner will be guided throughout the experience with expertise and discover a whole host of space facts along the way where they’ll take part in a series of out-of-this-world activities. Using state-of-the-art VR, they will be immersed with a spacewalk, interact in 4D with augmented reality, touch and learn about meteorites, suit up in a replica Tim Peake space suit, and eat like an astronaut.
The competitions we hosted consisted of painting a flying saucer in which all the CAREGivers then voted for their favourites, arranging the solar system on the wall in a pin-the-tail type fashion, and there was a space quiz with questions of varying difficulties. And then on the Friday, all the Key Players came in dressed up space themed. We had a great variety from Rey Skywalker, an alien, a rocket, Ellen Ripley, the Men in Black, and even a dinosaur! We had an absolute blast and the CAREGivers loved seeing us all in costume doing the Time Warp.
We try our absolute best to support our CAREGivers in any way we can as they continue to amaze us by supplying such a huge variety of home care from companionship, home help and housekeeping, to personal care, palliative care, and live-in-care.
And here we have a short poem based on our dance:
