Social Isolation is a big problem

Social Isolation is a big problem.

So the excitement of Christmas and the joys of New Year, have all been swept away by the revelation that everything goes back to normal in January.  For some elderly people however, Christmas and New Years was a lonely time of year. Social Isolation amongst the elderly has always been a talking point within health and social care.  The BBC has even suggested a link between older people with less social contact and an increased risk of death.

We understand that families try to visit loved ones regularly, however it can be difficult to make time for them amongst a busy lifestyle.  However, Home Instead Senior Care Sheffield South can provide a companionship/befriending service for your loved one.  Companionship care is avaialble from a couple of hours a day, and can include anything from simple conversation and trips to the supermarket to days out in Blackpool.

We also provide a matching service between clients and CAREGivers, which matches CAEGivers to clients who have similar personalities and interests to them.  This results in a much greater bond within 1-2-1 home care

So if you think that there is someone in your family or even a neighbour that is isolated or in need of a support please feel free to contact our office on 0114 250 7709.
