At Home Instead Sheffield, we provide all aspects of care to a variety of clients in Sheffield, including personal care, palliative care, home help services and specialist Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care. Most people like to think that they knows what these areas of care involve, and can seek out these services if a loved one requires them, but at Home Instead Sheffield, we believe that caring should be about more than just providing the services that are needed.
We believe companionship should be something that comes natural to every carer, no matter what other services they might be providing. We believe so strongly in this, that we take time to match each and every one of our CAREGivers to the clients who they will be working with. We spend time getting to know each CAREGiver personally. This enables us to look for common interests and personally traits to ensure that our CAREGivers and their clients have the best possible foundation on which they can build a trusting and genuine friendship.
We can arrange day outs for our clients along with their CAREGiver, many of our Clients enjoy going out and many of them have their favourite places to visit. As long as the client and their families are happy, there is almost no limit to the experiences and activities our CAREGivers can arrange for them.
For example, one of our clients, Kay celebrated her 105th birthday and we made it even more special by arranging for herself and her CAREGiver, Enis to attend the monthly super jam tea party hosted by Kathy Markwick who is the Community Support Officer for Home Instead Sheffield. Kay thoroughly enjoyed her day and was presented with flowers, a card and enjoyed the light entertainment at the tea party.
Enis, her CAREGiver who has supported her for 9 years said:
“Kay couldn’t stop smiling after attending the super jam tea party, we had a great day out and I support Kay on a regular basis to take her to her favourite places. Thank you to Kathy Markwick and all at Home Instead Sheffield for making her birthday a very special one.”
