A CAREGiver from Sheffield has just celebrated her 79th birthday, proving that you’re never too old to care.
June, who lives in Ecclesall joined local at-home care company, Home Instead 2 years ago and is proof positive that older CAREGivers can bring something very special to the relationships between CAREGivers and clients.
June epitomises the very essence of exceptional caring, bringing to each and every relationship her natural empathy and with the ability to share many of her life’s experiences.
June said “I love working with Home Instead and I relish my special times with all of the clients I care for. Fortunately my outlook on life and good health allows me to care for those people who are perhaps less mobile than me and I’m driven everyday by a real sense of purpose that I’m giving something back to my community and my clients.”
Bryn Evans, owner Home Instead in Sheffield said, “We have long believed that the over 50s offer a largely untapped and highly effective care resource and June is testament to this belief.
“We match our CAREGivers to clients and many of our clients would like to be cared for by someone closer to their own age, plus they have the life skills to understand the issues faced by those in need of care. It’s why we already employ many people who are over 50.
“Much of the work in the sector is part-time so is ideal for anyone looking to do a few hours to a couple of days’ work each week.”
Home Instead celebrated June’s birthday when they presented her with flowers and a cake.
