Following the successful Alzheimer’s family workshops held during Dementia Awareness week, Home Instead Senior Care are proud to announce our commitment to the Sheffield Dementia Alliance to provide these groundbreaking family workshops as an ongoing initiative.
These Free Family Education workshops are delivered in four parts and due to popular demand the numbers are limited so your early reply would be greatly appreciated. The workshops dates are as follows:
Day 1-Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementia’s - 8th August 13.30pm
Venue - Kinsey Road (Assisted Living Facility) in High Green, Sheffield, S35 4HP
Day 2- Capturing Life’s Journey - 12th Sept 13.30pm

Day 3- Techniques to handle challenging behaviours - 10th Oct 13.30pm
Day 4- Activities to encourage Engagement- - 14th Nov 13.30pm
It would be ideal for people to attend all four sessions to gain an all round knowledge and use the course to its full potential. Once you have done so you will receive a Learners certificate. It does not matter in which order you attend as we will continue with the workshops in the New Year as our ongoing commitment.
The Home Instead Senior Care, family workshops will educate and support people to identify the typical signs of dementia and gain a better understanding of the condition. It will also arm family carers and others in the community with effective techniques for managing the many different and sometimes challenging behaviours associated with dementia including refusal, delusions, aggression, false accusations, wandering and agitation.
Although we believe family members will benefit most from these workshops, however we are not limiting them to just family members. They will be available to local people living and working in the community, in fact, they will be accessible to anyone who may interact with someone with dementia.
So if you would like to book a place on any of the above workshops, or if you require any further information please call 0114 246 9666 or 0114 250 7709
