Those who care for a loved one with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, will always have questions; questions that fundamentally need answering. Whilst caring for someone with the disease, many questions can arise such as, why won’t she eat her food? why does she refuse to take a shower? why does she curse at me? why doesn't she recognise me? While the situation at hand may differ from day to day and from person to person, the core question remains: How can I deal with this ?
Allthough we can't present you with all the solutions to your problems, here is a positive leap forward to help struggling families cope with the disease. Home Instead have created 'The Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias Daily Companion App' as a pocket guide to help you through all the dementia care situations, you likely never dreamed you’d have to face. The mobile app is completely free from the app store, and allthough its roots are some what american, the information provided is both informative and incredibly efficient.
The app includes over 500 searchable tips and practical solutions sourced from the Home Instead Senior Care network and the Alzheimer’s and other dementias caregiving community. The foundation of the content is a new book published by Home Instead Senior Care called “Confidence to Care.” The app is a companion piece to the book in order to give CAREGivers and family members, in need and on-the-go, immediate and easy to access advice for any situation.
