Free Dementia Workshop at Virgin Money Lounge Sheffield!

At Home Instead Senior Care Sheffield we hold free dementia workshops, which are aimed at carers and families of people who are living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. The workshops are also proving hugely beneficial to members of the community who are eager to learn more about caring for people, touched by this condition.

Our workshops are completely free, however places are strictly limited so we recommend you either call 01142 469 666 or email joe.desmond@homeinstead.co.uk to book your place

Day 3 of the Workshop will help you:

1. Learn about the benefits of staying active for a person with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia.

2. Learn about three different types of activities - for mind, body and soul.

3. Discover various techniques to encourage your loved one to engage in an activity.

4. Become familiar with activities that are suitable for late stage Alzheimer's disease or other dementia,to stimulate your loved ones five senses.

The feedback from a recent Workshop was extremely positive.  It certainly served to reinforce the need for these:-

"It feels like we have somewhere to go now" - Family carer for her husband.

"On a personal note and having been a carer for over 10 years I can completely relate to this comment and this shows that community training is a massive achievement.  Often, that is all people need to some degree - others who relate and can share their difficulties" – Lee Pearse - ARUK National Dementia Champion and was carer for his mother.

Our workshops are completely free, however, places are limited so we recommend that you either call on 01142 469 666 or email joe.desmond@homeinstead.co.uk to book your place.
