Caring Julie through to national finals

Local caregiver Julie Godbehere, has been nominated for a national award for her outstanding services to the home care sector. Julie, who has already won the regional heat of the competition, is now one of only five finalists who are in the running for at-home care company Home Instead Senior Care’s national ‘CAREGiver of the Year’ award.

Julie (51) from Sheffield joined the team just over a year and a half ago and was put forward for the award by owner of Home Instead Sheffield, Bryn Evans. In nominating her, Bryn said, “When Julie started with us she said she was attracted to the position because she loves caring for people and she had a lot of care to give! Julie now supports 4 clients so she is very busy and has a complicated schedule but she manages it exceptionally well and always goes above and beyond the call of duty”.

Home Instead’s client, Reverend A Sheffield, wrote to say, “Julie was totally reliable and consistent in her work, her punctuality and her performance was outstanding. She provided care for my wife throughout her remaining days with great compassion and understanding. Her empathy with our situation helped us through what was a very difficult time.”

Bryn concluded, “I believe that Julie is a truly inspirational caregiver and I’m really proud that he has reached the finals of these prestigious awards. We will all have our fingers crossed in November when the eventual winner is crowned.”

Home Instead employs over 8,000 caregivers across its 135 UK offices. Each office was invited to nominate one outstanding CAREGiver.
