Annual Gift Giving Brings Cheer to the Community!

Local at home care company, Home Instead Norwich, is delighted with the success of their annual ‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ Christmas gift giving campaign, having received over 230 kindly donated gifts to distribute to seniors across Norwich.

Home Instead hosted a collection point at their office, where members of the community generously dropped off donations of chocolates, biscuits, toiletries, puzzle books and winter warmers, such as gloves, scarfs and blankets.

The gifts were then wrapped in festive wrapping paper and hand delivered by Chris Carter, Managing Director of Home Instead, and Erin Guyton, Marketing and Community Engagement Officer, to local organisations and individuals, such as Age UK, Salvation Army, and local church communities.

94 gifts were delivered to the Silver Road Community Centre, who distributed them alongside Christmas dinners to older people in the community. Over 130 presents were distributed to local parish groups and individuals who live alone or may not otherwise receive a gift or see friends and family this Christmas.

Erin commented: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the Norwich community. This year has been difficult, with many elderly people having to isolate, so we hope we have been able to spread some Christmas joy to older population in Norwich. Chris and I were humbled to have had the opportunity to hand deliver five Christmas dinners on behalf of the Silver Road Community Centre. It was amazing to see how happy and grateful everyone was.

“We are so thankful to everybody who has donated to the campaign, which includes local organisations and individuals. This wouldn’t have been possible without them.”
