Quality home care services across Mid Devon and the Blackdown Hills

Our new Mid Devon and Blackdown Hills office is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Mark and Vanessa McGlade, who have been successfully operating the Exeter and East Devon office, currently rated 5-star outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, since 2011.

The ethos driving Mark and Vanessa is an absolute desire to provide the very best home care in Mid Devon and to become the employer of choice within the sector.

The story started when Mark and Vanessa found themselves in the position of arranging home care for a much-loved relative. They were quickly at a loss for a home care provider in Devon that could really offer the support at home their loved one needed and deserved.

What they were seeking to find was quality home care in Devon that was to the same standard that they would provide to their family member themselves. And when they couldn’t find the right home care support, that was the moment they decided to open Home Instead!

What does exceptional home care in Mid Devon and the Blackdown Hills look like?

Home care visits in Devon are never any less than one hour long – this is double the recommended time suggested by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. Home Instead offers collaborative home care which promotes independence and allows time for dignity and relationship building between the client and carer.
CAREGivers are offered award-winning training, a mentoring scheme and ongoing support. Our Mid Devon carers are introduced to home care clients by a member of the team that the client has met before and, where possible, clients and carers are matched based on similar interests and personalities.

Visits last a minimum of 1 hour and are provided by CAREGivers who have been individually matched to Clients’ needs, interests and outlook on life.  Staff are professionally trained and supported in their roles, which enables them to provide ‘the Rolls Royce of care’ (a description made by one of their home care clients!).

Care of clients and staff is of equal importance for Mark and Vanessa, who have won various awards for their employer excellence and accredited training which is provided to all new CAREGivers.

Mark and Vanessa credit their success to the effort of the whole team, who are committed to offering the highest quality home care services and support across Mid Devon, including Tiverton, Cullompton, Crediton, Chard, Ilminster and Axminster.

If you or someone you know are looking for elderly support at home or specialist care in Devon, you could not find better than Home Instead Mid Devon and Blackdown Hills.

Please give us a call to discuss the type of home care that would be most appropriate – the right type of support at home often enables an elderly person to remain independent in their own home for a longer period of time.

“Our Outstanding Rating in Exeter and East Devon pays testimony to teamwork throughout and everyone’s commitment to providing care that comes from the heart, care with a family feel. We feel really passionate about providing that exceptional level of home care to as many people as possible, which is why we felt compelled to extend our offering across Mid Devon and the Blackdown Hills” Vanessa McGlade

“We set out ten years ago with a vision to be the ‘best of breed’ in homecare in our locality. Becoming the first homecare provider in the South West specialising in older adult care to receive a CQC Outstanding Rating for our Exeter and East Devon office was our dream come true and marks our commitment to continuous improvement. Being rated in the Top 10 homecare providers in the South West and being part of a national brand that has been royally recognised with the Queen’s Award has made us incredibly proud and we’re excited to be in a position to extend our model of exceptional home care to those residing in Mid Devon and the Blackdown Hills.” Mark McGlade
