Choosing Home Instead Mortimer for personalised home care
Many elderly people quietly lose contact with the communities they’ve known for decades. At Home Instead Basingstoke, we seek to restore community engagement and avoid individuals becoming isolated at home. Doreen, who lived in Stratfield Mortimer, had been diagnosed with dementia two years earlier. Her daughter Emma found managing her mother’s needs, alongside her job and the demands of a teenage family, to be overwhelming. She sought our help as Doreen clearly wasn’t eating well. We provided mid-day visits where we would work with Doreen to prepare lunch, rekindling her interest in food while offering social interaction and mental stimulation. This solution was a great relief for Emma.
For us at Home Instead Basingstoke, care is more than just a service, it's about personal relationships. We employ carers who show true empathy for the elderly and train them to become specialists in the provision of dementia care for the elderly. Jo spoke highly of our care for her mother-in-law in Burghfield Common: "Home Instead provides daily visits for my mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer's and other mental health issues. Setting up care was easy because they listened to us and quickly understood our needs. The carers are dependable, friendly, and adaptable, always putting the client first."
This personal, relationship-led care is reflected in the character of the villages we serve. Mortimer Common, often referred to simply as "Mortimer," sits on Mortimer Hill. Located a mile to the north is Burghfield Common, with both villages located on the Berkshire side of the Hampshire border. Rich in history, Mortimer is close to the Iron Age settlement of Calleva Atrebatum and the ancient Roman town of Silchester. Despite recent growth, Burghfield Common retains its community charm, with a stream, two ponds and a pond house set within tranquil rural surroundings.
We deliver tailored home care to the Mortimer community to nurture wellbeing and independence.
We adapt our services to fit your life, delivering compassionate, consistent, and attentive care, enabling you to thrive in your home and community.
Our dementia care in Mortimer is designed by experts and is City & Guilds Assured, so you know your loved one is receiving only the very best care. Our Care Professionals focus on creating an environment that's calm and consistent, while maintaining dignity and familiar routines to reduce confusion and keep clients comfortable.
