from fire breathing to CAREGiving...

Meet Heidi, another one of our wonderful CAREGivers’ here at the Huntingdon office. Heidi joined the Home Instead family in September of 2020, however, care is not initially where she saw her career going. Heidi trained in musical theatre and decided to pursue a career as a Dance and Fitness Instructor. Heidi spent some years teaching dance and fitness, making costumes through her own business, performing doing dance shows, fire performance and stilt walking. COVID-19 took a huge toll on her industry so due to restrictions she decided to make a temporary career change. That’s when she came across a Home Instead advert on social media. Heidi was unsure if a CAREGiver role would be right for her but decided to come for an interview as she wanted to make a difference and knew that she had good communication skills. Jo's Story 2021 #youcancare

As part of our 2021 #youcancare campaign, here is a story from a face you may recognise: This is Jo, our Field Care Supervisor at Home Instead Huntingdon. We shared a story from Jo last year as part of our #youcancare campaign, she is back this year but to tell us her story from a slightly different angle. Jo’s 2020 #youcancare story told us that she had worked for many years in several different industries before settling into care. At the time we shared her story she had just been promoted to Field Care Supervisor. Jo’s story proves that you can become a CAREGiver without previous experience, but also shows us that you can progress even further in your career. If, like Jo, you feel you could make a difference, give Hannah a call on 01480 454293 for an informal chat to find out more. Trudi's Story #youcancare

As part of our 2021 #youcancare campaign, here is Trudi’s story. Trudi joined the Home Instead Huntingdon family in May 2020, unfortunately Tudi had felt the affect of the UK’s first lockdown and decided to make a career change. She had spent most of her career working in warehouses/factories, her Daughter already worked with us and recommended Trudi give it a try. She was unsure whether care would be for her but decided to come and meet with us anyway as “you never know”. Following her interview Trudi felt much more confident that this was a role she could do, so she joined our team. Now, almost a year down the line, Trudi has turned into a truly wonderful CAREGiver. She has fantastic relationships with her clients and says she is very glad she made the decision to give it a go. If, like Trudi, you think that care could be a career for you, click our vacancies section to apply today!
