7th August - Mental Health Support Information Session

With Gloucester Talking Therapies. Join us as we host Gloucestershire Talking Therapies who will bring support and advice on living with a number of mental health conditions, including depression, PTSD, anxiety and OCD. This session is free to attend on Wednesday 7th August, 2pm – 3pm and will benefit both those living with mental health conditions and their friends and families.

This session is free to attend and open to anyone in the community. If you’re looking to learn more about talking therapy and how it can help, or what other options there are out there to treat mental health conditions, this session will benefit you.
The NHS’s Let’s Talk initiative brings help to people living in Gloucestershire to guide and support individuals through their journey with emotional and psychological problems. They offer therapy, courses and self-help to support people through difficult times in their life.
Held at BizSpace, Barnwood, GL43HX. Free parking on site.

24 August - Living with Dementia with Dr Jennifer Bute

We’re excited to welcome back Dr Jennifer Bute for a follow-up session to discuss living with dementia. Jennifer is a retired GP who at the age of 63 was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. With her professional background in supporting patients with dementia and her own personal experiences, Jennifer shares her unique perspective on living with dementia to support others along their journey.

Jennifer will join us at 2pm on Saturday 24th August for this free-to-attend expert information session. The session is open to anyone, including those who have been diagnosed with dementia and their loved ones, people whose work involves supporting those who have been diagnosed with dementia and individuals who are looking for more information to help make their local community a more dementia-friendly environment.

Jennifer is a published author and has a website gloriousopportunity.org where she shares resources and gives useful information and insights for both adults and children to help understand dementia. Jennifer is passionate about sharing her experiences, challenges and strategies to help people understand and live with dementia.

4 September - Living with Type 2 Diabetes

The Community Diabetes Service will be joining us to discuss living with Type 2 Diabetes and how best to manage the condition at home. Learn about what diabetes does to the body, managing changes in blood glucose levels and all about insulin. The Community Diabetes Service is run by professionals including specialist nurses, dieticians and diabetes educators to help people living with diabetes manage the condition to the best of their ability.
