Sharon- Registered Care Manager and CAREGiver
Hi, I am a mother of two teenage children and a Care champion at Home Instead in Gloucester. So far I have been fortunate in life for I have been able to live in different countries and experience new cultures and ways of life. Somewhere during the journey of life, I was to be introduced to the Care sector.
I decided to transition into care quite late in my working career. It was triggered after my paternal grandmother received care at home. I decided care was the right option for me and I have not looked back. Starting as a CAREGiver, I soon progressed through different roles all of which had to do with taking care of my lovely CAREGivers and helping our clients be safe and independent in their own homes. In care, I discovered a whole new way of life that was much more fulfilling and more purposeful than everything before.
I am passionate about quality care and armed with my compassionate nature, reliability, and my ability to ‘see’ people, I have managed to bring happiness and well-being to the elderly by supporting them in maintaining their independence. As a Registered Care Manager, the role gives me a great opportunity to support CAREGivers and customers alike and I ensure they have the best person to take care of them.
When I joined Home Instead I was very impressed by the approach to Care the ‘Home Instead way’. Now I am proud to be part of a team that has set a goal to change the face of aging through care that is highly personalized, relationship-led, looks at the elderly beyond their inabilities and illness, and treats them with dignity and respect. My role gives me the opportunity to understand the needs of our clients and the strengths of our CAREGivers and being able to make the best CAREGiver -Client matching gives me a great amount of joy.
In these times when the elderly are exposed to the dangers of life-threatening infections, there is no place safer than home. I am Sharon, the 'Registered Care Manager and CAREgiver' at Home Instead and its my privilege to deliver high-quality, Relationship-Led care to our lovely clients.
Deepak - Director and CAREGiver
After an exciting and enriching corporate career, it was time for me to do something where the meaning and purpose was more tangible and more fulfilling. Hence choosing to be a 'Home Care' service provider was an easy choice because unlike most professions the meaning and purpose were so tangible, and evident. Not to mention how easy it was to imagine the joy and fulfillment of helping the older persons in our community, helping them continue to stay independent in the comfort and safety of their own home. Home Instead stands out with its brand standards and policies and systems that drive a high say-do ratio on the values and the mission to '...change the face of aging in the UK'
It is such a pleasure driving the brand mission in the Gloucester and Forest of Dean Area through Unrushed, Relationship-led and Personalised Care'

Changing the face of aging means maintaining the dignity and independence of the elder person through relationship-based care in the comfort of their own home. Changing the face of aging means setting new standards of care that we will receive as we grow older. After a very fortunate career journey that took me through great companies and people experiences that enriched my management skills and my understanding of the world, Home Instead's values and beliefs struck such a chord with me and helped me decide to invest in changing the face of aging.
Engaging and empowering the right people
Much early in my journey, I realized that this passion can make a positive impact only through CAREGivers who are highly engaged, committed, passionate about improving the lives of the ones, and derive joy from caring. So I spend a lot of my work time looking for these members within our community and carefully handpicking them with the support of a highly experienced and qualified team at Home Instead, we know where to look for them and how to spot one when we see one.
At Home Instead Gloucester and The Forest of Dean, the CAREgivers are always told to be the ambassadors of the clients first and their loyalty should be to the client's health and well-being. Every member of the staff are empowered and supported to speak and act to the welfare and safety of the clients they support.
so, in my role I strive to build relationships within the community & understand the needs and arrange bespoke, relationship-based care to seniors whilst managing employee morale and engagement. I channel my energy and passion in making a positive impact to the community by bringing the assurance of Home Instead's high-quality and dependable care to the families seeking it for their loved ones.
