CQC Showcases Home Instead Exeter & East Devon
The CQC have written a report showcasing home care provider Home Instead Exeter and East Devon as leading the way in effective staffing and working flexibly to support the South West Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST) deal with increasing pressure on their service from fall-related calls.
CQC explains that Home Instead has effectively prevented needless hospital admissions for clients and prevented the dangerous physical and mental effects of lying on the floor for potentially long periods of time.
The CQC chose to focus on quality of care, patient safety, and efficiency and found Home Instead to be leading the way in this regard.
“Safe, effective staffing is about having enough people with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time. It's about team work, not silo working. It's about developing staff to support each other in new roles - making sure patients follow the smoothest possible journey on their care pathway”, CQC.
