Featured in CQC Annual Report - leading the way!
Featured in the CQC’s annual State of Health Care Report our office was highlighted as leading the way to prevent hospitalisations through non-injury elderly falls. As an office we could not be more proud of the process we have implemented with the South West Ambulance Trust ensuring clients who suffer non-injury falls receive urgent support. The full report is available via the link and we are featured on Page 25. The extract reads: Home Instead Senior Care Exeter & East Devon, had been keen to find ways to support local ambulance services in reducing hospitalisations from falls. The provider used the traffic light system and post-falls assessment guidance from the South West Ambulance Service Trust and adapted this to develop a training programme for its staff. This helped to reduce pressure on the ambulance service and cut hospital admissions. Home Instead also purchased a special chair with a lifting device to help people off the floor, and the ambulance service trained staff how to use it. Between December 2018 and April 2019, the chair was used more than 30 times and most people avoided hospital. https://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/20191015b_stateofcare1819_fullreport.pdf
