As with every other stage in life, when we grow older we all have different abilities and needs. Recognising this, Home Instead offers a broad range of services which we tailor to the individual requirements of each of our clients.
We value companionship and helping our clients to stay connected to the communities in which they live as highly as the task based aspects of care. This is particularly true of people living with dementia and other forms of memory loss, who may have few personal care needs, but do require specialist support to maintain their quality of life, safe and secure in their own homes.
Prospective clients contact us directly to discuss their needs, often after hearing about us from other health and social care professionals. Sometimes clients use us to top-up a care package they receive from social services; sometimes they prefer us to do everything. Our clients pay for their services using a combination of their own funds, allowances, benefits and direct payments.
All our CAREGivers are recruited for their caring and compassionate natures. This combined with our in-house training programme (including our City & Guilds accredited Dementia CARE Training Programme) gives them the skills and confidence they need to support their clients successfully. When we match a client to a suitable CAREGiver, we introduce them in person; ensure they will be consistently supported by the same person and make sure they have enough time to develop a mutually rewarding relationship.
