Reading is Caring Workshop

As part of National Storytelling Week, we would like to invite anyone caring for or living with someone with dementia to come along and join our free Reading is Caring workshop with Keira from the Scottish Book Trust.

The one-hour workshop sessions will take place at our office:

– Unit 23, Castlebrae Business Centre, Peffer Place, EH16 4BB on Tuesday 30th January at 5.30pm

If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] or call us on 0131 300 0599 to book a place.

The Reading is Caring workshop is aimed at helping you create a personalised shared reading experience, develop storytelling and sensory skills through a story book box to help regain connections with loved ones. This will help to build confidence as relationships flourish through the shared experience of stories and poetry relating to hobbies & interests or personal life experiences, this can help to encouraging a renewed sense of self with connections to memories and relationships.

Keira will be here to help support you in creating your personalised story experience and promote the many positive outcomes that can be achieved for both carers and people living with dementia; from the quality time shared to improved mental health & quality of life experienced by both.
