Home Instead Senior Care Chester, which provides care to people in their own homes in Chester, Ellesmere Port, and the surrounding areas, prides itself on the variety of training and development opportunities within the company.
When CAREGivers are hired, they participate in a quality introduction training scheme, which lasts 5 days. Refresher training opportunities are regularly given to existing employees and offer new specialised training so caregivers are well equipped to work with clients, each having individual needs.
Shortly after CAREGivers begin working with clients, they participate in an extensive dementia course, enabling them to learn skills, tips, and techniques to cope with the sometimes challenging demands of those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
Lyn Derricutt, a recently dementia - trained caregiver said, “We all really enjoyed the training and found it very useful when putting the things we learned into practice. The training provided a better insight to what it is like for someone suffering with Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia. This specialised training showed what we can do to better the quality of care we provide to our clients.”
Chris Broadbent, owner of Home Instead Chester says, “We pride ourselves on how much training we offer at Home Instead. It is important for our staff to have opportunities to develop their skills, and we also ensure that we are well equipped to manage all of the needs of our clients. This training also gives our caregivers a recognised certificate in City and Guilds.’
“We consider our fantastic CAREGivers as everyday superheroes; they are everyday people doing extraordinary work. Whether they are providing companionship care, preparing meals, or helping with daily living routines, they are making a difference to the lives of the elderly.”
