About Home Instead Huntingdon
Hello and welcome to Home Instead Senior Care Huntingdon.
The Huntingdon office of Home Instead Senior Care is passionate about providing a reliable, high quality home care service. We have highly trained CAREGivers who are carefully matched to our clients.
Home Instead CAREGivers complete a training programme designed by national and international renowned dementia and Alzheimer's experts. This means our CAREGivers are provided with the latest in Alzheimer's education and home care techniques, so you can be assured your loved one is being cared for by a trusted professional.
The office is owned and managed by Cheryn Rook who has worked with elderly and disabled people for over 20 years. In recent years she worked for a local disability service where she trained and managed volunteers to support disabled people across the region. Having seen and heard stories of people receiving inadequate care, Cheryn decided that she wanted to set up a care agency which delivered a high quality service, with clients having the consistency of the same carer every day, arriving at the times requested by the client, delivering a service tailored to meet their individual needs.
Following careful research, Cheryn discovered Home Instead Senior Care, which is part of a worldwide organisation with over 170 offices in the UK. Cheryn decided that Home Instead shared her vision and ethos of delivering the very highest quality care and our office opened in April 2012.
We offer a wide range of one-to-one services tailor made to the individual. These include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medication, home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties and companionship services which can be anything from escorting clients on visits or appointments to conversation and good company.
Our bespoke and flexible home care service enables older people to remain living independently in their own home for longer. Unlike many Care Agencies, we do not enter into bulk Local Authority Contracts which forces providers into giving inconsistent care in short time slots.
We pride ourselves at Home Instead in valuing the importance of individuals and reliable one-to-one care.
We provide care in Chatteris, Ely, Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Biggleswade and villages in between.
My mother has dementia and lives in the Cambridgeshire area. She has got worse over the last few years and we have had to increase the care package quite a lot recently. As a family we have had a difficult time getting the care right from different agencies over the years but my mother now has an excellent service from Home Instead.
What makes it excellent is the care taken over delivering exactly what is on the care plan and doing so in a personal and compassionate way. My mother forgets most peoples names these days but she does remember the name of Jane one of the CARGivers who has built a lovely rapport with my mum. I believe she has done this by taking the care of the little things, like tone of voice, getting on the same level as my mum, making eye contact. When there is time she reads to my mum which is something she loves.
All the care has been good, particularly noteworthy was the time that Jane was off sick and the manager rang me to check that it was ok if she personally went to introduce a new worker to my mum. So the management of the care package and communication with family has also been good and able to react to changing needs. Its a relief to have found a care team able to respond to my mum's needs and work flexibly with myself and my family.SH
