Memory Lane takes a trip to the Wrexham Museum

Local care company Home Instead, who look after elderly clients in their own homes in Wrexham and Flintshire East, recently organised a free outing for all those who attend the Memory Lane Elderly social group, the group is run by Home Instead in conjunction with St Giles Parish church as a dementia friendly elderly social group.

Memory Lane, which has been running for 2 years, takes place on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.  It is free to attend and there is always free tea, coffee, and cakes, support from specialist dementia caregivers, singing, crafts, activities and advice.

Local taxi company, Wrexham Prestige Taxi, graciously supplied a minibus for free for the outing. Their driver even dressed up in a suit and tie to make the group feel special!

Matthew Murray James, owner of Home Instead in Wrexham, said, “I am delighted that everyone had such a great time on the trip to the museum in the glorious sunshine. We are proud to be able to ensure the elderly in the local community are enjoying life to its fullest.

“I would like to thank our Home Instead CAREGivers, volunteers from St Giles Church and Wrexham Prestige Taxis for making the trip possible. Everyone had a great time and we are already starting to plan the next outing!”
