CAREGivers In Wales To Receive Keyworker Card
From 15th April 2020, all social care workers in Wales, including Home Instead CAREGivers, will be sent a card that will enable them to access some of the benefits that are currently available to NHS staff and keyworkers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This has been produced through Social Care Wales in response to reports that many frontline care workers were struggling to prove that that they were essential keyworkers in places such as supermarkets, where special benefits have been set up.
Our CAREGivers provide essential support to some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community and are helping to ease some of the pressure on the NHS.
Some of these care workers have faced problems when attempting to purchase food and groceries for those individuals that they are supporting, as well as for themselves and their families. This has been particularly frustrating for those who are working long hours and shifts and have little time to do their essential shopping.
The card will be available for all CAREGivers in Wales who are on the Register of Social Care Workers as managed by Social Care Wales. For those who have yet to register, the card should be requested via your Registered Care Manager at your place of work.
