5 Reasons To Become a Home Instead CAREGiver
The New Year is often a time when people start thinking about a new job or even a new career entirely. We currently have openings at Home Instead and are looking for friendly, caring people to join our team and help put a smile on the face of our clients.
But why should you come and work for us? Here are our 5 top reasons to become a Home Instead CAREGiver:
Great Rates of Pay
We want our CAREGivers to feel valued so the pay we offer our staff is incredibly competitive. We pay £10.42 per hour during the week with an enhanced rate for weekend and evening work.
On top of this we also pay you for your travel time between clients, and offer a mileage allowance.
If you’ve never worked in care before it can be a daunting prospect, but as a Home Instead CAREGiver you’ll be provided with a comprehensive training plan before you start your first visit. You’ll be given in-depth information on everything you need to be able to support your clients, giving you every confidence that you’ll be able to provide the highest level of care.
You’ll also get to shadow experienced CAREGivers who will introduce you to your clients and mentor you during your first few visits. This will ensure that you feel entirely confident and comfortable in what you are doing. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and build on everything you’ve learnt during your induction.
Flexible work that fits around your lifestyle
As you can imagine, care isn’t a 9-5 role. We have clients that we look after at all times of the day, with mornings and evenings in particular demand due to the nature of the care provided.
During the application process we’ll ask you to provide your availability and preferred hours and where possible we will work to find the hours that suit you. We also have roles that are just in the evening or at weekends enabling you to work around another job or family commitments.
A rewarding, fulfilling career
As a Home Instead CAREGiver you’ll have a unique opportunity to really make a difference to someone’s life. Our care is different to many other providers – we don’t rush in and out of clients’ homes in 15 minutes. We provide a minimum of one hour per visit (often more) which affords you the time to really get to know your clients, and to support them whatever their needs. Working in small teams, and visiting a small number of clients you’ll build up a relationship of trust and respect on both sides.
Support and development
When you join the team as a Home Instead CAREGiver you’ll be offered plenty of support and opportunities for development. With a friendly, local office team on hand as well as the wider team of CAREGivers, you’ll never feel on your own.
You’ll also be given the chance to achieve nationally-recognised qualifications, should you wish to, as well as continued learning and development opportunities, contributing to your growth and development within the team. We love to see our CAREGivers thrive in their roles.
Home Instead is a nationally recognised company, and is a great place to either take your first steps into the care industry, or equally to develop your career if you already have experience in this field.
If you are kind, warm-hearted and caring with a passion for helping others, then you’ll be a perfect fit as a Home Instead CAREGiver.
