Part-Time Opportunities for CAREGiver's

Welwyn Garden City Part-time £9.50 - £11.50 per hour Closing date: 16/04/2021

Company Description

Home Instead is the world's leading provider of non-medical companionship based care in the community and has over 160+ offices nationwide. The Welwyn & Hatfield office is now looking to recruit additional people to join our fabulous team of CAREGiver's who look after our elderly client's in their own homes within their community.

We are looking to recruit a number of CAREGiver's to enable us to grow and face the challenges that 2021 will no doubt bring. We are facing those challenges with confidence because we know that our CAREGivers are highly trained, exceptionally skilled, and really do pour their heart and soul into the caring of our elderly clients.

We look after people who reside in the following locations : Borehamwood,  Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Welham Green, Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City and are looking to recruit part-time staff who can travel within these area's.

It is essential that you have your own 'car', this is because we work in the community and travel between people's homes, and are not just travelling to one destination daily - This is non-negotiable.

By working together we can make 2021 an exceptionally good year for our client's and for our CAREGiver's. After all,  can you think of a better way than to start the year with a new job, working with people who really recognize your worth, and who look forward to seeing you each day?

Job Description

What makes a great CAREGiver?

The reality is a number of things because we assist and support our clients in whatever way is needed to suit their personal needs. This means that we help them to rise in the morning and support them to get washed & dressed, perhaps assisting with changing a continence pad or checking to ensure their catheter is not infected.

Then we may prepare breakfast or other meals, undertake light housework or do the shopping, collecting prescriptions along the way. We could take the client to a hospital visit or a social event (when allowed again) or just sit and have a cup of tea and a chat to help the day along.

Each clients needs are different and that means that a great CAREGiver is flexible and adaptable to meet these needs, and an abundance of common sense goes a long way too.....

Qualifications

We offer Award Winning Training and Continuous Professional Development throughout your career with us and this means that we look at your capabilities and not what you have previously achieved.

Our initial training covers 5 days and will ensure that you are fully aware of what is needed to undertake the job in a highly professional way.

You MUST have TRANSPORT and that means a car and not a bike - We work in the community and need to travel between clients daily taking PPE and sometimes other necessary equipment so a car is MANDATORY.

We also require you to have good clear verbal communication skills. Some clients may have hearing loss or dementia and really need to be able to understand what you are saying to them.

Additional Information

All of our positions are part-time and we like our CAREGivers to have flexible working patterns that will require some evenings and shifts on a Saturday and Sunday on alternate week-ends. Tell us what you would like to do and we will try to work with you where we can.

All positions are subject to four references and successful DBS clearance.

All positions require the CAREGiver to have their own transport.

You will be expected to work in multiple locations on a daily basis.
