Company Description

Home Instead is the world's leading provider of non-medical companionship based care in the community and has over 160+ offices nationwide. The Welwyn & Hatfield office is now looking to recruit additional people to join our fabulous team of CAREGivers who look after our elderly client's in their own homes within their community.

We are looking to recruit CAREGivers to enable us to grow and face the challenges that 2021 will no doubt bring. We are facing those challenges with confidence because we know that our CAREGivers are highly trained, exceptionally skilled, and really do pour their heart and soul into the caring of our elderly clients.

We look after people who reside in the following locations : Borehamwood,  Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Welham Green, Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City and are looking to recruit part-time staff who can travel within these area's.

It is essential that you have your own 'car', this is because we work in the community and travel between people's homes, and are not just going to one destination daily - This is non-negotiable.

By working together we can make 2021 an exceptionally good year for our client's and for our CAREGivers. After all,  can you think of a better way than to start the forthcoming year with a new job? working with people who really recognize your worth, and who look forward to seeing you each day.

Job Description

Too much spare time driving you mad ?

Bored with having nothing worthwhile to do ?

Longing to be an important part of the community ?

Feel you have a lot to give back ?

Retirement can be too good to be true, we can find ourselves with a lot more hours on our hands than we know what to do with and long for something worthwhile to occupy us. If you can identify with these feelings whatever your age or circumstances perhaps you might like to consider a role as a CAREGiver?

I am often asked 'What makes a good CAREGiver'? and I always reply, 'it is someone who really wants to make life easier for others and who can find joy in supporting and assisting the elderly within their community'. If you have the right attitude we can teach you all the skills to make you highly competent and a true professional CAREGiver.

We look for people who can dedicate 10-20 hours each week and who can be flexible in the hours that they work, some days and some evenings are preferable and some shifts on alternate weekends. Tell us what suits you and if it is feasible we will work with you on availability.

Each of our clients has individual needs so each day differs for our CAREGivers, you may be assisting with personal care, washing & dressing, changing continence pads and catheter care or helping with light housework and meal preparation, shopping, taking clients to appointments and to social events, when able of course.

If you have considered the role but have some unanswered questions you would like to ask before applying give me Patricia Eagling a call on 01707-240650 or email me on [email protected] and I will be delighted to answer any queries you have.

Qualifications

We do not require any previous experience as we undertake to offer you Award Winning Training and undertake to continue your Continuous Professional Development throughout your time with Home Instead.

We look for enthusiasm, willingness to learn and an abundance of common sense. If you are always late or are unreliable then this role is really not for you because our clients really rely and look forward to your visits.

We INSIST you have your own car - this is ESSENTIAL

We also INSIST that you have clear verbal communication skills as some clients have hearing loss and Dementia and struggle to understand what is being said.
