#YouCanCareWeek! 12th-16th March 2018

This week we are supporting #YouCanCareWeek!

Many people have preconceived ideas about what caring for the elderly is all about.

We understand that being a CAREGiver can be a rewarding role but can often introduce stresses and pressures which might leave you feeling low and vulnerable to changing situations, family matters and work patterns. This is a natural response and yet all too often people do not know who to turn to or have access to extra help and support when it is needed.

As a highly valued member of the Home Instead team we are delighted to introduce Life & Progress as a new provider of a support service which offers a range of benefits including professional advice, useful information, resources and counselling.

The service is strictly confidential, is independent of any connection with Home Instead and no one will know that you have used the service without your express permission. What’s more, the service is completely free to use

We’re holding the FIRST ever #YouCanCare week this March 12th – 16th, to raise awareness of what it’s really like to work as a CAREGiver for older people and the HUGE rewards that come with it.

Caring goes beyond bed baths and assisting with toileting, it’s about making a connection with a person and being their companion. At Home Instead, it doesn’t matter what type of work you’ve been in previously or what training or qualifications you have as full training is provided. Instead, it’s about the right personality and attitude.

Throughout the week, follow the #youcancareweek and #youcancare hashtags to find out more about a career in caring. We’ll be posting videos, quotes and advice around caring for older people and you can follow us on Facebook or Twitter
