A lovely recommendation from one of our Clients family members this morning.
Home Instead were recommended to me by a friend. I had no idea such services existed and was relieved to find a trustworthy organisation and people.
My first contact with Barbara reassured me that she had an awareness and understanding of the individuality of people. She introduced herself and the service clearly to me and my Mum.
The experience for Mum and I was positive and reassuring without being patronising. At all times my contacts with various people working for Home Instead were respectful, warm and helpful.
Mum was unsure and reluctant to accept help at first. Her carers were very mindful and respectful of this ensuring that they kept to her wishes. Eventually Mum came to look forward to the visits and formed a good relationship with Karen (her main carer) in particular. I admire the patience, integrity and friendliness offered to Mum and the respect and interest shown to her and to the stories of her life. The carers showed the skills necessary to steer Mum onto happier topics when anxiety became a problem.
We initially took this service as a tool to manage Mum's daily medication regime. It was much more than that as the visit of an hour a day brought conversation, connection and a warm friendly face.
Thank you, I recommend you and your services to anyone wanting help to ease an older person's anxiety, confusion, or physical/mental limitations.
