Promoting local activities with Age UK Lambeth

Home instead Wandsworth, Lambeth and Dulwich has worked closely with Age UK Lambeth over a number of years to help establish and promote local activities and initiatives for the elderly.

The Pandemic has resulted in a marked increase in the cases of social isolation and loneliness amongst the elderly and to aid the great work that Age UK is doing to help our local residents, Tony O’Flaherty, the owner of the local home care company, Home Instead, and his National Office raised £800 to help this worthwhile cause.

The grant will be used to help Age UK’s “ MYsocial” team which runs over 60 events every month to help tackle loneliness.

MYsocial
is a social membership service open to adults of all ages who want to try new activities, make new friends and enjoy hobbies that make them happy and fill them with joy.

Most of the events held are either FREE or under £10 with large discounts available on more expensive experiences.

MYsocial
provides a monthly digital calendar packed with activities and events for people to enrol in and enjoy.
