Home Instead, a company that specialises in providing care and support to the elderly in their own homes in Oldham, Saddleworth & Tameside, are delighted with the results of their recent compliance inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The April 2012 report is packed full of positive comments from clients, relatives & staff which were gathered as evidence during the inspection:

"The agency is a lifeline, I don’t know what I would do without them."

"A good agency with people who always bring a smile with them."

"They are very competent and good at what they do."

"The manager is always talking about respect and dignity it's so important."

Managing Director, Mick Sheehan said “It’s a very good report with lots of positive things said about our service; it’s a real testament to the hard work and dedication of all the team”. Mick added “In the care industry a small amount of bad news tends to dominate and overshadow the majority of good. Quality care is delivered with dignity to thousands of people on a daily basis across the country; it’s just nice to have it acknowledged.”

Home Instead clients have a care plan tailored specifically to their own needs and the service is extremely flexible ranging from a few hours a week to 24 hour care. Services can include personal care; such as assistance with bathing, dressing and medications. Home help; covering housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties and companionship services; that can involve everything from escorting clients on visits or appointments to simple conversation and good company.

The company also provides a range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and dementia care, convalescence care and respite care.

“We are passionate about providing the highest standard of person-centred care. Our ethos is simple – treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves. In doing this we are improving our clients’ quality of life and helping them to remain independent and happy at home.”
