Collecting Donations for our Appeal

Christmas 2019 has been a fantastic year for our annual "Be A Santa To A Senior" appeal - we were inundated with support from our CAREGivers, staff, local individuals and organisations from around Oldham.

You may have read our earlier news update where we explained what our appeal was all about - we collect donations from our community and give a wrapped up Christmas present to elderly people around Oldham who have been identified as someone who may not receive a gift on Christmas morning.

We received a lot of support this year - from Pearson Solicitors in Oldham whose staff donated gifts, Alt Academy Primary School who collected lots of donations from their pupils and made Christmas Cards for us to put with the presents, Community Brew in Greenfield who not only donated lots of gifts but also collected £187.50 towards our appeal and Workflo Solutions based in Uppermill who donated a box full of food items. Every year we receive wonderful hampers from Jill Foot who lives in Chadderton, who found out about our appeal some years ago and has supported us ever since!

From the gifts donated and the money from Community Brew we were able to give presents to 140 people!  That is 140 extra smiles on Christmas morning that might otherwise have been a very sad lonely day for them.

May we take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us, we really do appreciate your help. A special mention needs to go to the staff and children of Alt Academy who went over and above to support us - the handmade cards they made were gorgeous and we were able to put a card with each present - we are sure the cards will be proudly displayed on many a fireplace well into 2020!
