Local lady Amanda Looseley has been nominated for a national award for her outstanding services to the care sector. As a Caregiver for national at-home care company Home Instead, Amanda consistently goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding service to her clients. As a result Amanda is one of only ten finalists nationally and is now a contender for the prestigious title of ‘Caregiver of the Year’.
Amanda is 46 and lives in Mossley. She was put forward for the award by Mick Sheehan who owns and runs the Oldham & Saddleworth office of Home Instead. In nominating Amanda, Mick said: “Amanda is a truly fantastic caregiver who is utterly dedicated to all of her clients. One lady Amanda visits four times a day suffers from vascular dementia and does not have any family living locally. Amanda has established a fantastic relationship and routine with this client and thanks to her tasty home cooking, this lady has regained her appetite and managed to reach a healthy weight once more.”
Mick continued: “Another lady Amanda works with is actually very new to the area and Amanda has done a fantastic job settling her in and taking her on a variety of local social outings. This client now feels very much at home in the area. Put simply Amanda is an invaluable member of the team and a truly inspirational caregiver who thoroughly embodies the Home Instead ethos.”
Home Instead now has over 80 offices across the UK and all offices were invited to nominate a caregiver for the prestigious award. The company’s national head office has interviewed each of the 10 finalists and the winner will be announced at the organisation’s national conference which is to take place in September.
