Promotion for Caring Role Model Emma

Emma Wilson, Client Experience Manager at Home Instead Senior Care Norwich, has successfully completed her interview with the independent regulator of health and social care services in England, the Care Quality Commission, to become the office’s new joint Registered Manager.

Emma, from Earlham in Norwich, is a mum of three who joined Home Instead in 2013 as a CAREGiver, as she wanted a flexible role which fitted around caring for her children. The company provides at-home care for older people so they can continue living in their own homes.

Emma has loved every minute of working in care and has spent the past five years expanding her knowledge, training and experience to enable her to take on this new role.

During her time as a CAREGiver, Emma was popular with her clients and took on extra on-call-responsibilities, as well as moving into delivering training, which led to her eventually becoming the team’s full-time trainer.

Whilst working as the team’s Client Experience Manager, Emma worked towards attaining the highest level 5, Health and Social Care Diploma and was also a finalist in the Motivational Leadership category of the Norfolk Care Awards 2016.

Emma is an Alzheimer’s champion, encouraging the team to participate in events such as the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk to raise funds for the charity.

Emma commented on her new role: “I know what a rewarding job it is to be a CAREGiver and I’m now able to pass on my enthusiasm through a managerial role. The team are great to work alongside and I have thoroughly enjoyed my roles at each level I’ve worked in. Understanding all the different roles and their requirements means that I really have walked the walk!”

Home Instead Norwich owner, Chris Carter, commented: “Emma is a great asset to our team, always giving her all in every position she has held. She is well loved and has a great relationship with clients past and present, an ideal role model for our CAREGivers and the opportunities available to them within our company. We know she will excel in her new role as Registered Manager and we are so pleased for her to have attained this position in the company.”
