Help Spread Christmas Cheer With Be A Santa To A Senior 2018

It’s that time of year, time to start thinking about… CHRISTMAS!
The mention of Christmas in Home Instead means it is time for our ‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ campaign.
Previous years have been so successful that we just HAD to run the campaign once again!

This time of year is full of love and spending time with those who mean the most. But what about when everyone’s gone, or you no longer have anyone to share this special time of year with?
‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ is all about spreading the Christmas cheer, getting donated gifts to those older people on their own at Christmas.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of North Wales, we receive hundreds of donated gifts, wrap them and then hand deliver them to lonely older people in time for Christmas morning.
Once again, our team will be working with Red Cross, Contact the Elderly and Age Connect, ensuring that the gifts get to those who have no one.

We are also receiving help from the North Wales Fire Service to deliver the gifts, offering free fire safety checks at the same time.

Last year, over 700 people received a gift and some company that they may not have otherwise had.

Support for the initiative was so great that we also visited Glan Glwyd Hospital, Colwyn Bay Hospital, Bryn Hesketh and Llandudno Hospital to deliver gifts to patients who had no one visiting them. We even managed to visit MIND in Llandudno to deliver gifts for those who were attending their Christmas Day lunch.

This year, we’re hoping it will be even bigger and better, as it is now easier than ever to get involved.

From 19th November to 7th December, you can take your donated gift to any one of the following;

- Ty Llewelyn Community Centre, Llandudno
- St David’s Church, Penrhyn Bay
- Abergele Golf Club
- Cartrefi Conwy, Abergele
- Tesco, Abergele
- Home Instead Office, Abergele
- Disability Resource Centre, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd
- Council Offices, Rhyl
- Nova Centre, Prestatyn
- Age Connect Office, Denbigh
- County Hall, Ruthin

Also, our team will be in the Bay View Shopping Centre on the 4th and 5th December, from 10am until 4pm. The team will be happy to accept any donations and also explain the initiative and the powerful impact it has on those who are in receipt of it.

Please help us put a smile on an older person’s face this Christmas and support the initiative in any way you can.

Donations can be as big or small as you feel you can contribute, we’re even looking for donations of wrapping paper this year and volunteers to help wrap.

If you know someone who is going to be alone for Christmas, let us know and we will ensure they get a visit and a gift. You can email [email protected]
or call the office on 01745 772150.

You could help make someone’s Christmas. :)
