Home Instead launch Santa to a Senior 2020
Again this year we are so pleased to be running our Santa to a Senior Campaign with Tesco in Bicester. This is the fourth year on the trot we have run this campaign which asks the generous shoppers of Tesco to buy a little extra item which we hen wrap and distribute to older people who otherwise may not receive anything. We will be in store from Monday 30th November until Friday 11th December where people can donate gifts...so look out for our decorated trolley and please do donate what you can. We recommend small gifts which older people will appreciate including puzzles, toiletries, and confectionary.
Presents are collected at the donation point in the store, adhering to COVID-19 restrictions. All presents will be left for 72 hours and delivered to local seniors in a secure, contactless manner, ensuring that they aren’t put at risk.
Graham Holtom, owner of Home Instead North Oxfordshire comments: “We are so excited to be launching our ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign again this year. This is our fourth year, and each year we see the campaign bring festive joy to local seniors. We know not all elderly people are lucky enough to have family visit them at Christmas or receive any gifts, so this is our way of giving back to the seniors in our community who may not be so fortunate.
“The winter months paired with increasing social restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic may see many seniors experiencing isolation this Christmas, with family members potentially unable to visit. By gifting local seniors with a small present, we are able to remind them that their local community is here for them, hopefully bringing a smile to their face!”
Katy Andrew Community Champion at Tesco said ‘We are thrilled once again this year to have the opportunity of helping older people in the community over Christmas. It seems particularly appropriate this year when more older people than ever may feel alone’.
