We’ve built relationships with local groups and activities specifically designed for those living with dementia, including connections with dementia-friendly community initiatives. For those who prefer quieter days, our Care Professionals might suggest a peaceful visit to Delamere Forest or a gentle drive through the Cheshire countryside to stimulate memories and provide sensory engagement.
We are led by Nick, Head of Operations, who joined Home Instead in 2021 after experiencing firsthand the quality of our care when we supported his wife's grandmother. Our Registered Care Manager, Michelle, has been with Home Instead for more than 13 years, starting as a Care Professional herself. As local residents ourselves, we understand the community and have built strong relationships with families throughout the area. This local connection carries through into our wider community involvement across the Sandiway area. We regularly participate in local awareness events and work alongside dementia support groups to improve understanding of dementia in our community. Our team members volunteer with memory cafés and will soon be launching our own dementia café to create a welcoming space for both clients and carers to find support and friendship.
