To us it's personal

Families often contact us when a loved one needs more than hourly visits, perhaps because they are living with a condition such as dementia or Parkinson's or leaving a hospital to live at home. The care we provide is always tailored around the person, and that may include help getting up and ready for the day along with cooking meals they enjoy. There is light housekeeping too, whether the laundry or keeping the home in good order. We support many older adults living with dementia, and live-in care suits them particularly well, as the familiarity of home and one consistent Care Professional bring a familiarity that helps day to day. Staying part of the community around you matters just as much. Our Care Professionals are always happy to take clients to the Tuesday market or for a walk among the flowerbeds at Bailey Park, and because many of them drive, these outings and a lift to an appointment are simple to arrange.

Choosing Home Instead Abergavenny for personalised home care

Having the same person beside you for a good stretch of time is one of the real strengths of live-in care. To keep that continuity, most of our clients are supported by two Care Professionals who work a rota, each living in for a few weeks at a time, so both become familiar, welcome faces. Our local team handles the schedule and the handovers between them. Your Care Professional lives in a spare room in the home and will usually work an eight- to ten-hour day, with proper breaks. They sleep at the house, so someone is close by overnight if something unexpected happens, and where continuous support through the night is needed, we can talk that through and arrange it. If either of your Care Professionals is ever unavailable, we arrange cover straight away. You will always meet them before care begins.

Our Abergavenny Team is With You Through Every Step

The quality of our care rests on how carefully we look after our Care Professionals. We employ each one directly, provide training that continues throughout their time with us, including in specialist areas such as dementia and Parkinson's, and our local team manages the whole of the care from start to finish. For families, this brings real reassurance. You can speak to us by phone or meet us face to face, and because we live and work in the area, we know the GP surgeries, pharmacies and district nurses nearby and can point you towards the right local services when they are needed. We are also fully regulated and inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales, which holds us to high standards of safety and management. If you have particular needs, whether short-term support after a hospital stay or care for the longer term, do speak to us and we will find the best way to help.
