The Kirklees Team
James Little - Director
Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care Kirklees.
My ambition to start a service for older people began during my time at University. My grandmother was in need of support due to a deterioration in health. As a family we rallied around my grandparents but we knew our support would never be sufficient given the distance between us. I experienced the challenge of finding a suitable home care service during this time.
Following six years in operation, we are proud to have consistently achieved good Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection reports along with recognition from independent organisations such as Laing Buisson.
Having grown up in Holmfirth I returned to start Home Instead. I seek to develop relationships with a wide variety of organisations in order to reinforce and grow our fantastic Caregiver team and deliver the Home Instead Senior Care service to the wider Kirklees area.
In my free time I enjoy cycling around our beautiful Yorkshire country side and have spent a fair few miles in the saddle raising money for the Home Instead Bring Joy Foundation.
I welcome your feedback and can be reached by emailing email@example.com
I have worked in Health and Social Care for over 40 years. Firstly training as a General Nurse specialising in Neonatal Care and then as a District Nurse before training as a Social Worker in 1987. I have experience working in both the Public and Private Sector at senior management and board room level and working across a number of client groups including learning disabilities, mental health and older people services.
I joined the Home Instead Kirklees office in 2017 as a Quality Assurance consultant. Impressed by the company ethos and was pleased that the owner James Little shared the same passion and vision for delivering quality services.
I have enjoyed initiating and reviewing the Home Instead care provision and take great pleasure in meeting each of our clients and their wider support network.
I have officially joined the company as the Registered Care Manager in October 2017 and look forward to championing the needs of our clients and mentoring our Caregiver team.
"With her vast experience of managing CQC registered services, Alison will support the Home Instead Kirklees team to ensure that we deliver the highest possible level of customer care"
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I'm a keen reader, traveller and lover of music. Here you can see me with Dolly, one of my wonderful grandchildren having just completed an Alzeimer's Society Memory Walk at Abbey Park in my home town of Leicester.
I joined Home Instead in November 2017 After spending many years working as a Service Manager with NHS GP Out of Hours services, Additional Services for dental, Safe Haven and Palliative Care Walk across West Yorkshire and more recently Manager of Leeds Walk-In Centre and GP practice.
I have also been a full time carer for my mum for many years. My experience has developed my understanding of both receiving and delivering care.
I am passionate about developing and supporting people. This is a key part of my Home Instead role as I seek to reinforce and grow our fabulous team of caregivers who play critical parts in the lives of Home Instead clients.
In my spare time I am active in the West Yorkshire Scouts and enjoy many outdoor activities. I am currently studying for a diploma in psycho therapeutic counselling at Manchester Metropolitan University.
I started working with Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver. I very much enjoy delivering support to my clients and seeing the positive impact on their day to day lives.
My good practice was recognised by my line manager and I was asked to take some quality assurance responsibility. I now split my time between CAREGiver duties and quality assurance.
Our CAREGiver Team
Our CAREGivers are the life and soul of Home Instead Senior Care Kirklees.
In the initial recruitment phase we meticulously select and screen each CAREGiver candidate to ensure the quality of our home care services are of the highest level. Whether our CAREGiver is delivery Home Help, Companionship, or Personal Care support our clients can rest assured they are in safe hands.
Each CAREGiver is required to provide a minimum of 4 references and carry our an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly known as a CRB).
As an award winning social care provider we prioritise and support our staff in various way. We feel this is the most effective way of ensuring each Home Instead client is fully supported and satisfied with their home care service.
I would recommend Home Instead to anybody who is in the position of having loved ones who need help and assistance to enable them to stay in their own home and also to give relatives some peace of mind during what is a very worrying time for all concerned. My parents have always found the CAREGivers to be friendly and responsive to their needs even though they are of that generation whereby they still think that they can manage without help. The CAREGivers have gotten to know my parents and have adjusted to their needs and wants in a professional manner, whilst at the same time treating them as friends and giving them company when needed. During the past six months, things have been extremely difficult for us a family and my mother found it very hard to accept care in the home – Home Instead have always reinstated their care at a moment’s notice for which we have been very grateful. I would always recommend Home Instead for anybody who finds themselves in the same position as we are in and thank you to all the CAREGivers who do a fantastic job under sometimes difficult circumstances.
Thank you also to Catherine, James and Sue for their unfailing patience and kindness.
With kind regards and our thanksA and M (Client daughter and son in-law)
