Home Instead Isle of Wight Director

John Oswald

Owner and Director

I am one of the two owners of Home Instead Isle of Wight.  I have lived with my wife and family on the Island for over 20 years and feel we are an integral part of our local community.

I recognised the need for a high quality and improved approach to caring for seniors on the Isle of Wight after experiencing mediocre care provision for my aged parents over a 10 year period.

After careful consideration and extensive research into the domiciliary care industry, we feel privileged to have secured our business within the Home Instead family.

Dee Oswald

Owner and Director

I am the co-owner of the business and passionately share the Home Instead ethos of delivering nothing but exceptional care for our ageing population.

My own experiences with the care needs of my ageing parents over the last few years, has highlighted the issues and problems with the provision of quality care and the ageing process.   This led me to review the options available and the conclusion that Home Instead is the preferred provider of choice.

We are both excited to be able to offer a quality, tailored and compassionate service that enables clients to stay independent in the comfort of their own home and also ensures positive outcomes that we wish we could have provided for both sets of our parents.

Home Instead Isle of Wight Registered Manager

Charlotte Moore

Care Manager

Hi, I’m Charlotte, I am the Care Manager for Home Instead Isle of Wight. I am so happy to be working with a rated outstanding team who really are outstanding in every way! My aspirations are to maintain a very high level of well-led safe care to clients in our community that follows all regulatory guidelines to the T. I am always seeking to improve the service we provide and look at why we work the way we do.

I began my care journey over ten years ago as a healthcare assistant and have always wanted to advocate and do more for people. This led me to complete my registered nurse training for which I achieved an honour’s. I am also a dementia friend and an end-of-life champion with years of experience in these areas. I love the feeling I get when we receive positive feedback – it makes me realise why we do what we do and the true benefit of helping people in a person-centred way.

Having worked in nursing homes and the hospital I realise that home is definitely where the heart is, and our role is to help people remain there as happy and healthy as they can be for as long as they can be. Our care angels go above and beyond for our clients and build the most beautiful working relationships to achieve planned outcomes. This provides the personal touch that we strive to achieve every day.

Care Professionals

Our wonderful Care Professionals are unique and have their own interests, skills and personalities which allow us to match them with our clients on a person to person basis - even though our workforce is diverse we all share one thing in common - we really do care!

Many of our staff are mature - the average age of our Care Professionals team is around 50 years old, we value our whole workforce, older Care Professionals tend to have life experience that help them relate to the families they are supporting, often having cared for their own family members.   Our staff draw on experience across a wide variety of employment settings ranging from the NHS, Mountbatten Hospice, Age UK and even Nursery Nursing. Many also have no professional experience in Health and Social Care only a desire to do the best for the people they support.  Care Professionals don't need professional care experience to join us: Often personal experience is a very good indicator that potential candidates to Home Instead would make an excellent Care Professional.   People who work in care may refer to themselves as carers or care workers however, we like to call our staff Care Professionals - Care Professionals have the same professional responsibilities and some aspects of the role are the same however, being a Care Professional with Home Instead is so different!

Home Instead's Care Professionals are committed to providing Outstandingrelationship led care to the people they support to remain independent at home.  If you know someone who could be a  Home Instead Care Professional in the making, contact us today!
