Team members from two Yorkshire offices of national at-home care provider, Home Instead have just been announced as finalists at the Great Yorkshire & Humberside Care Awards 2010.
Florence Dolan from Harrogate has been shortlisted in the category for the ‘Home Care Worker Award’ and Tyson Dallimer from York has been shortlisted in the ‘Home Care Manager Award’. Both will attend the glitzy presentation evening at The National Railway Museum, York on 12th November 2010 along with their colleagues.
Local pensioner, Florence, works tirelessly to support her clients, making herself available at short notice and often dropping personal engagements at evenings and weekends to support her clients changing needs.
Owner of the Harrogate office, Sheena Van Parys, Commented “Florence has a wonderful manner about her, is unflappable and calm in any situation which in turn is very reassuring to clients and their families. Put quite simply, Florence is a diamond and we are very proud of her.”
Described as a fantastic mentor by his team, Tyson goes above and beyond to ensure his caregivers are fully prepared for the role they are about to embark upon.
Luke Norbury, owner of the York office, said “Many of the people Tyson has recruited have had limited experience in care, but he has supported and mentored them as they have built up their skills and experience. His ‘open door’ policy has always meant that anyone in the team can approach him with anything that might concern them. He has developed an induction programme that covers all the topics needed for caregivers to start work feeling that they are adequately prepared.”
