Sarah wins CAREGiver of the Year 2020

27 January 2020. Normally, in December each year we organise a mega event to thank all our CAREGivers and Key Players for their hard-work and celebrated the success we achieved during the last 12 months. At the event we handout various awards on different categories, but the main attraction of the event has always been, announcement of “CAREGiver of the Year” Award.

This year, due to COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to organise a face-to-face event and celebration in our usual way. But we managed to put pull-together a virtual event that turnout to be an amazing and most creative event ever.

On 27th January 2020, we organised a virtual celebration event where we recognised over 50 CAREGivers with their long service awards, we also announce our PEAQ Survey winner and the most awaited “CAREGiver of the Year” Award. As this was a virtual event, we decided to spice-up a bit and surprise the winner. While all the participants were live on video calls, the event host announced that the winner will now get a “knock” on their door and one of the key players from office will be there to present the award certificate, it was so pleasant to see everyone excited and curious. Yes! The winner was Sarah and her door was knocked.

Sarah started her journey with Home Instead Greenwich & Bexley one year ago and since then she has been making a difference in her clients lives daily. Prior to joining Home Instead, Sarah worked with adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs, which was also an extremely rewarding job. Sarah stated, she really enjoys working with Home Instead because the company genuinely believes and lives by its mission statement “changing the face of ageing” and look after their staff very well.

Winning the Award, Sarah expressed her profound happiness and feel grateful for being able to make a difference”. One of the client’s daughter that Sarah supports, commented “I would like to say a big thankyou to Sarah, my Dads carer. He said that she has been brilliant at helping him and looks forward to her visits. This is very reassuring for me and I would like to say thankyou to her for being there to support him with his needs”.
